Peat Rigg is the perfect base from which to run Duke of Edinburgh courses, with direct access to both the spectacular lowland areas of the National Park and the North York Moors. All our instructors have the perfect balance of qualifications, local knowledge, and expertise with the safety, back up and resources of a high-quality Outdoor Education Centre.

OUR PROGRAMMES
Peat Rigg Outdoor Centre runs bronze, silver, and gold DofE expeditions and residentials for schools, groups, and businesses. If you are a DofE coordinator and you are in need of a site to safely host your students Peat Rigg is the ideal self-contained location. We offer high quality facilities, such as indoor showers and toilets, in a Covid-19 safe environment.
HOW WE CAN HELP
Our Duke of Edinburgh Coordinator, Edward Thomson, can work with you during the planning and delivery of your expedition and our admin team are on hand to support throughout. Our local knowledge and experience will ensure that we maximize the learning opportunities and run safe and highly enjoyable courses for your students.
As a not-for-profit Social Enterprise Peat Rigg has over 30 years of delivering high quality outdoor learning that provide excellent value for money.
WHERE TO FIND US
Situated in the North York Moors national park, designated a Dark Sky Reserve.
The special status was awarded by the International Dark-Sky Association which said the park is a "global leader in dark-sky conservation".
Wild camp on your DofE and immerse yourself in one of the darkest skies in the country, with little to no light pollution making thousands of stars, meteors and the Northern Lights visible.
